Touren Men1 - bis 90mm
Intense nature experiences – far away from the slopes
The successful kick off for the WorldSkitest Touring Skitest took place in March 2018 in the Innerkrems a starting point of the Carinthian Nockberge Trail. The Carinthian Nockberge offer countless possibilities for wonderful ski tours with breathtaking panoramas. Therefore it is not surprising that in this region the Nockberge Trail originated. This - focused on pleasure and wellbeing - is a multi-day ski crossing trail that connects the Carinthian ski resorts of Katschberg, Innerkrems, Turracher Höhe / Falkertsee and Bad Kleinkirchheim.
It was a special challenge for us to test and compare the touring skis at the usual high level. Various factors, such as ascending the mountain, putting on and off the climbing skins, the setting of the binding and the way of how to do the testing required a few years of brainstorming and meetings together with the professionals of the ski industry. After long intensive considerations, we have found a good way to test the touring models.
Every tester had - as usual in the WorldSkitest - one trip per ski on a closed test track. In the Innerkrems we chose the test track "Strasseralm", here our testers checked throughly the characteristics of the skis - downhill performance, the behavior during ascending as well as the handling while putting on and off the climbing skins.
All models were equipped and tested with the uniform binding "Kingpin", like this all skis had the same conditions.
In the category "MEN 1" touring skis were tested with a center width of 85 - 90mm, which were not allowed to exceed a weight of 2,800 grams without binding.
If you are looking for a touring ski that offers balanced performance, both ascending as descending so it will be in this category. Due to the extremely lightweighted construction of all these models, ascending the mountain will also be a pleasure. In terms of performance these models don´t lose almost anything, thanks to new technologies.
Target group: Skiers and touring skiers who are looking for easiness while ascending.
The touring skis were tested by :
Udo Kröll, Gerhard Winter, Stephan Skrobar, Helmut Breitfuß, Max Stießen, Gottfried Krabath, Josef Egarter, Hannes Loipold, Manfred Mair, Andreas Kimeswenger, Florian Köfer, Josef Kabusch …
