Men Race Slalom 2010/11
The men’s´ Slalom ski were all tested with a length of 165cm. The first group from 7.00-10.00am enjoyed a wonderfully prepared, icy slope whereas the second group from 10.00am to 1pm due to lots of sunshine found the slope already softer with quite heavy snow. These different testing conditions make the results significant for the customers.

For a down-hiller like me it is exciting to test Slalom skis. It is really unusual for me to do such short swing turns but there are noticeable differences between the models. And it´s a great idea to mask the skis with black foil! |
In this category our male testers were testing the manufacturers´ latest slalom skis. And for the first time since WST has been published four brands got the mark “excellent”. This is a clear indicator for highly professional and excellent work of the manufacturers – all for the customers´ benefit!
![]() Olympic Champion Fritz Strobl | There are differences, but the industry has been giving its best again. With the race skis the edge grip is utmost important and decisive for the safety of the skier. The consumer´s decision should go for a ski that he/she feels really comfortable with and I am sure that the WorldSkitest can help with this decision. |

(Former German Racer)
WST is the most professional ski test I know. Despite intensive work in testing the fun factor is very important. I think that's great.

Viktoria Rebensburg
(OlympicChampion)
It was my first test and the test with the black taped skis is great. Not knowing what brand you test makes it possible to be completely focused on skiing characteristics – and there are quite some differences to be enlightened.

Franz Klammer
(Head of Testing)
10 years WorldSkitest 10 - that's an impressive number. The WST has proven itself and has become a major international ski test. Also at the ski sector a lot has changed. The level has become higher, the brands are closer together and the quality of the skis is more then satisfactory.

Verena Höllbacher
(Kroatian Worldcup Team)
I never thought that there are so many differences. My tip: The perfect ski is the one with which you do not waist too much energy, you have fun skiing and you get better from run to run. The WST is a great event and certainly a great help when considering buying skis.

Werner Franz
(Ex Austrian Worldcup Skier)
For me, the most important thing is the handling of the skis. When it comes to sales, design is also an important factor. I am also glad to see, that safety is an important issue with WST and almost everybody is wearing a helmet.

Andreas Linger
(Double Olympic gold medallist in Sledge)
The WorldSkitest is every year a fix date for me and this is already the 5th time I’m here. The development of the skis is really amazing, the ski-industry really has done something for he skier. The Schmitten shows itself from its best side – this all makes the testing really enjoyable!

Marcel Hirscher
(Austrian Worldcup Skier)
With the WST top skiers are testing the models thoroughly and that is the perfect help for every customer. The latest trend: the modern design of the“free ski” is transferred to all the other categories.

Margita Marbler
(Freestyler)
I am so happy that I am able to help consumers with their buying decision. And for me personally, it is a very good time and it will hold lots of wonderful memories.

Bernard Vajdic
(Slovenian Skier)
It is my first time to take part at the WST, it´s great fun and organization is just perfect. I am looking forward coming back next year.

Fritz Strobl
(Olympic Champion)
I think that WST is a great thing, as it is fair and objective. In addition it is a perfect opportunity to test various models and learn the differences.

Ingrid Salvenmoser
(Ex Ski Star)
The testing procedure has been the same now for ten years and that only proves that the WST is significant and valid. In terms of safety a helmet and back protector should be standard on the slopes and just a natural thing to put on

Urska Hrovath
(Ex Ski Star)
It is my fourth time with WST and every single time has been a great experience. You meet lots of friends and have a real good time together. It is my fourth time with WST and every single time has been a great experience. You meet lots of friends and have a real good time together.

Hans Knauss
(ORF Expert)
Ski industry is constantly working on improvements of their models and this year there are some really good skis available. As a long-timer with WST I can only say: keep on going, everything is great!
